How to judge the rigidity of CNC machining center

2023-07-24 09:14:53

The stiffness of the CNC machining center will directly affect the production efficiency and machining accuracy. The greater the stiffness of the machine tool, the higher the dynamic accuracy, so how to judge the rigidity of the CNC machining center? The following editor has compiled some content for your reference

1. Selection of section shape and size

For cross-sections with the same shape, when maintaining the same cross-sectional area, it is better to use a form with a small wall thickness and a large cross-sectional profile size. The rigidity of the closed section is greater than that of the unclosed section. Opening a hole in the wall will reduce the stiffness, and adding the flange around the hole will restore the bending stiffness

2. Selection and arrangement of partitions and ribs

The rational arrangement of the partitions and ribs of the support can improve the stiffness of the component. For longitudinal, transverse and diagonal ribs, cross ribs work best; for some thin-walled members, honeycomb ribs are better.

3. Improve the local stiffness of the component

The connecting parts of the guide rail and the support of the machine tool are often parts with relatively weak local stiffness, but the connection method has a great influence on the local stiffness

4. Select welded structure components

The supporting parts such as the bed and column of the machine tool are welded by steel plate and section steel, which has the obvious advantages of reducing weight and improving rigidity. The elastic modulus of steel is about twice that of cast iron, and it is possible to make the component into a fully enclosed box-shaped structure by welding with steel plates, which is conducive to improving the rigidity of the component.
